A meaningful partnership around Paul Morvan
For several years now, we have been working with the Breton skipper Paul Morvan and this year in the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec.
Shared values: supporting a committed sailorHe is passionate about his region and deeply attached to it.
The start will take place on Sunday 17 May.
A military oven from the 1950s back in service
Built in 1953This German-made military field oven tells a very special story. Only a few years old after the Second World Warthe French army ordered these furnaces in order to be able to make your own bread during military operations.
Designed to be towed by GMC trucks, this metal oven is powered by a system of steam tubes allowing the temperature to rise to more than 300°C. Multi-fuel, it can run on coal, fuel oil or wood. A truly mobile bakery designed to feed hundreds of soldiers in total autonomy.
Surprisingly, despite its military vocation, the furnace was never actually deployed in any operational theatres. Today, this rare heritage has been given a second life.
Folded bread baked over a wood fire in the village
Visitors to the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec village will be able to discover this oven in action and leave with a freshly baked loaf.
In partnership with the artisan bakery Hascoët House from Perros-Guirec, the dough pieces will be shaped in the Emmanuel Hascoët's bakery and his team, then transported just a few metres away to be baked on site by our baker-trainers and the entire Foricher Pays des Abers team.
In the spotlight: the folded breadA bread made on sourdough, renowned for its conservation and character. A clear reference to the maritime world, as it will also accompany skippers who wish to take it on board before setting sail for Vigo.
Rendezvous in Perros-Guirec
